Our Story

Our Story
CJ and Yas both work in Singapore but their love story has its roots in the Philippines. They started out as colleagues and even though they are on the same department, they were handling different roles and never actually spoke, only hi and bye. Everything changed one time however when they were partnered as a team for each shift. CJ and Yas spent their office hours together from that day. They became closer than anyone in their team, and even hang out during their free time. When Yas decided to leave the company, they stayed in touch and still hang out with their common friends. And their relationship sprang from there.
Yas recounts that CJ’s proposal came unexpectedly.
“It was Valentine's day and we planned to eat dinner outside after office. Little did I know that he had already spent his day preparing everything. And when I reached home, the music began playing, the lights were out, and surprisingly… a candle lit dinner is already set and waiting for me on the most perfect table setting someone has prepared for me in my life. After eating the main dish, while drinking our favorite wine and savoring our lovely dessert, I notice a fascinating card under my plate… Written was the most beautiful question a lady could ever read…then sudenly (on his knees) he handed me a cute little but elegant wooden box out of nowhere… and of course I gladly answered yes (with tears of joy in our eyes)! We then called our parents for the news. My parents liked CJ from the very start so he easily got their approval!”
The Wedding
Even though they were both in Singapore, CJ and Yas still had a very hands-on approach to all aspects of their wedding planning in the Philippines. The theme of their wedding was “Modern Vintage” and their colour palette was a mix of their favourite hues – torquoise and champagne. The talented groom stretched his hands and was responsible for many of the wedding’s details including the reception layouts and backdrops, suits and gowns for the entourage, invitations, props, tables, giveaways, designing his custom-made shoes, handsewn the ring pillow for the ceremony, and starting this website. Not wanting to be left out, the bride dedicated herself on finishing this website and demonstrated her will and enthusiast reaching out to all the vendors and suppliers overseas. She also designed the backdrop and signs for the photo booth, all the paraphernalias for the ceremony and party, and hand-crafted her own bridal shoes design.
In keeping with tradition, they had a rehearsal dinner with their family and close friends, the night before the big day. They both also ensured that on their special day, they had something special for each other and hopefully become a family heirloom that will be passed down to each generation in the family who are getting married.
Cj and Yas’s advice to couples planning their wedding?
“Start planning as early as possible so that you will be able to book the church, reception, and the date you prefer. DIY some stuff to save money but of course, do this as early as possible so you will have enough time to relax before your big day. Also remember to expect the unexpected as there will always be some glitches here and there that can’t be avoided so don’t let them disappoint you.”
